Bottom-line cost monitoring of project costs can be carried out by the attached template. This template should be completed at the end of the first month of the project when you have some cost actuals to report. However, this template is of no use unless it has a budget to compare. The cost budget for each month is derived from the Project Budget Template posted earlier this month.

The template has the following key features:-

• Compares the monthly budgeted cost against actuals
• Compares Budgeted Cumulative Cost against cumulative actuals
• Shows budget /cost deviation by month
• Shows cumulative budget /cost deviation by month
